Busy Start to 2013

logo2013 has already been a very busy year for the SYA.

Yes! To Agriculture, our 7th annual winter conference and AGM was held January 31-February 1st in Saskatoon.  This was the largest SYA event to date with attendance near 100!  Thank you to all who attended, and to all the new faces that came out.

The SYA has partnered with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture to present two workshops instructed by Dr. Larry Martin.  The first, Introduction to Commodity Risk Management was held in Saskatoon February 12-14, 2013 with full capacity.  The second workshop, Advanced Commodity Risk Management is being held March 26-28, 2013, with a couple spots still available.  Interested persons should contact the SYA to pre-register sya@saskyoungag.ca

The SYA is very pleased to have sent 6 delegates representing Saskatchewan to the annual conference and AGM of the Canadian Young Farmers’ Forum in Ottawa March 1-5, 2013.  This national event is an excellent opportunity to network with producer peers from across the country, while taking in all the great workshops and speakers the conference has lined up.  This opportunity is available every year to any current SYA member, another great reason to make sure your $20 annual membership is up to date!
